2022 Acura MDX Trim Levels

The MDX is Acura's most powerful and most luxurious SUV, pairing three rows of seating with high-performance engineering and enviable levels of interior comfort. For 2022 there are four Acura MDX trims available at our Acura dealer location in Moncton, and here are the highlights of each.

Base MDX

The base MDX might be an entry level trim, but it certainly packs a punch under the hood. A 3.5L V6 gas engine makes a healthy 290 horsepower and 267lb-ft of torque, passed to advanced all-wheel drive through a ten-speed automatic transmission complete with paddle shifters. Double wishbone front suspension combines with multi-link rear suspension and an adaptive damper system to give a smooth and relaxing drive, whatever the conditions.
The infotainment and technology provision is equally impressive, with a 12.3" colour display giving access to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside built-in Alexa compatibility and wi-fi tethering.
And the high level of tech continues into the safety systems, with standard features including forward collision warnings with pedestrian detection, emergency collision mitigation, lane departure warnings with haptic feedback and keep assist, and a road departure warning system.

MDX Tech

The MDX Tech keeps the same underlying power train but increases interior comfort with extra features including heated second-row seats, leather-trimmed upholstery, interior accent lighting, and a premium 12-speaker audio system complete with sub-woofer. Technology is upgraded to provide in-built navigation with voice recognition control, while the safety system also includes front and rear parking sensors plus a low speed braking control.
Convenience features include heated power-adjusting side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, a keyless access system for all four doors plus the trunk, and a powered tailgate with hands-free access and auto close. And lastly, the exterior looks are given a sports feel by 20" alloy wheels fitted as standard.

MDX A-Spec

The A-Spec trim upgrades the interior with features including Ultrasuede leather-trimmed seating surfaces, metal sports pedals and footrest, and a unique CabinTalk in-car PA system for easy communication with the rearmost passengers. The front seats are now ventilated as well as heated, while the audio system is upgraded to boast fully 16 speakers including a sub-woofer. LED fog lights improve visibility, while the flat-bottomed steering wheel adds a sports touch to the driving experience.

MDX Platinum Elite

As you'd expect from the name, the Platinum Elite occupies the top spot in the 2022 Acura MDX trim selection. It offers a host of premium features, ranging from the 16-way power adjustable front seats to genuine wood accents throughout the interior. USB ports are provided in all three rows, while safety is enhanced by both a surround-view camera system and a colour head-up display to project vital driving information onto the windshield interior.
