One of the most noticeable features of the Type S is its engine. Housing a 3.0-litre turbocharged, DOHC, i-VTEC V6 with direct injection, this powerhouse can pump out 355hp and deliver 354 lb-ft of torque. This high performance marks the 2023 MDX Type S as the first SUV from Acura that can achieve the class of Type S, a classification reserved for Acura’s high-performance division of cars.
Height-adjustable air suspension provides comfort while driving, no matter how full the SUV is. The auto-load levelling keeps a stable height no matter how heavy the interior gets, or shift to sport mode and use the dynamic air suspension to lower the height for a closer-to-road driving experience. Lift mode offers greater ground clearance when on challenging road surfaces. The Brembo 4-Piston front callipers offer efficient braking and easy handling of the MDX Type S.
Interior and Exterior
Offering four exterior colour options, the 2023 MDX Type S comes in silver, white, black, and grey. Interior colour options are limited, varying by your choice of the exterior. When picking the interior, options are limited to either black or a red and black option. Of the exteriors, black is the only option to offer both interiors.
The 53.34cm shark grey alloy wheels include resonators designed to reduce road noise. An equal portion of performance and style. These 10-spoke wheels are exclusive to the Type S Acura MDX. Additionally, placing a bit of bold red behind these spokes are the Brembo 4-Piston front callipers.

The MDX Type S from Acura offers high performance, as mentioned above, delivering 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. This power is fuel efficient, offering 13.8L/100km in the city and 11.2L/100km on the highway. Acura MDX’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive helps deliver this fuel efficiency.
